'Fallout 4' Is Already One Of The Top Selling Games On Steam

Bethesda surprised the gaming world earlier this week with their Fallout 4 announcement trailer. If the more than 9 million views (and counting) for the game's official trailer is any indication, people are really excited for Bethesda's next open-world, post-apocalyptic RPG.

Really excited. So excited, in fact, that many gamers are buying the game months, and even potentially more than a year, in advance. We don't know a release date or any real details about the game, but yet Fallout 4 is one of the top-selling games on Steam right now.

No new details are to be found on the game's product page, other than it will be Bethesda's "most ambitious game ever" and is the "next-generation of open-world gaming."

It currently sits at the number four "top sellers" spot, after open-world dinosaur survival game ARK: Survival Evolved, pre-orders for the Steam Controller and Steam Link and the ever popular Grand Theft Auto V.

Yes, that's correct. A game that we know almost nothing about and won't be coming out for at the very least another five months is almost outselling the critically acclaimed PC version of the recently released GTA V, a game hailed as the superior version of an already critically acclaimed and beloved game.

If it wasn't clear before: people are really hyped about Fallout 4.

Steam itself is getting in on the Fallout 4 hype train by hosting a sale on the entire Fallout franchise (excluding Fallout 4, of course) for this weekend only. Gamers can snag Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition and Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition for $11.99 each, or snag the base versions of each game for $4.99. If you want to how the whole franchise started, you can also snag the original Fallout, Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics for $4.99 a piece or for $11.99 as a bundle.

In case you've been living under a rock, you can watch the announcement trailer below. Expect plenty more Fallout 4 news at Bethesda's official press conference on June 14.
