Images of what are reportedly cases for the iPhone 6 have appeared and back up claims that Apple will move the smartphone's power button to its side.
Apple hasn't even announced the iPhone 6 and we're already being inundated with details of the device on a daily basis. We've seen schematics for both the 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch iPhone 6 leak, as well as mock-ups that were used by case manufacturers to get a head start on building accessories for the handsets. The latest information comes in the form of what is supposedly another third-party case for Apple's next-generation iPhone.
Nowhereelse posted new images of what the site claims are a silicone case for the iPhone 6. The case's dimensions line up with measurements listed in the leaked schematics for the 4.7-inch iPhone 6. The images clearly show cutouts for rectangular volume buttons on its left side and not the circular ones currently found on the iPhone 5s. The right side of the case has a cutout for what is believed to be the smartphone's power button.
Recent reports have claimed that Apple has moved the iPhone 6's power button from the top of the device to its side to make using the device with one hand easier. We've already seen this trend on Android smartphones when they began shipping with displays larger than 4 inches. The case also features slightly curved edges, which line up with the information listed in the leaked schematics.
The 4.7-inch iPhone 6 is expected to ship in the fall. Some reports have claimed the larger 5.5-inch iPhone 6 has had some manufacturing problems and has been delayed slightly, but is expected to be available in time for the holidays. Both models are widely believed to pack in a more powerful 64-bit A8 processor, Touch ID fingerprint scanner, and upgraded rear cameras with optical image stabilization and dual-LED flash. The smartphones will also use a larger battery than the 1,570 mAh currently found in the iPhone 5s in order to power the larger displays.
