U.S. Cellular Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 Receives Android 5.0.2 Lollipop OTA Update

Users of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 will welcome the news that the U.S. Cellular variant of the tablet is now finally receiving the much-awaited Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update.

The software update for the U.S. Cellular Galaxy Tab S 10.5 is an over the air one and is currently being pushed out by the carrier. The other four major carriers in the U.S. have already pushed out the software update a few weeks ago and U.S. Cellular was the last one remaining.

The news comes straight from the horse's mouth as Samsung's support website has listed the details of the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update for the tablet.

The version T807R4TYUBOE5 of the update brings several enhancements and tweaks to Galaxy Tab S 10.5 users' way. These are as follows:

Material Design: Gives the OS a new look and feel.

"Your experience will include more fluid animations along with improved applications and personalization options like themes, colors and widgets," reveals Samsung.

Your device, your rules: Users will be able to alter the settings so that only specific notifications and individuals can get through. Moreover, one can reply directly via the lockscreen as well.

More ways to secure your device: Users will have the option of creating multiple user accounts for guests/friends so that they too can log-in from the user's tablet but not access the settings.

Additionally, the Android Smart Lock feature will enable users to protect their device by simply pairing it with a device that is trusted by them, such as a smartwatch.

Pick up where you left off: This feature lets owners of the tablet enjoy apps, photos, songs, as well as recent searches on one Android device across all the Android devices belonging to the user.

Since the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update for the Galaxy Tab S 10.5 is an OTA one, it may take a while before it hits the tablet. To manually check if one has received the update go to Settings > About Device > Software Update > Check for updates.
