This may come as a shock, but all of those TV shows and toys you grew up loving as a kid? Modern day kids think they are lame.
You don't have to look any further than the latest "Kids React" video from TheFineBros to see the evidence, in which kids watch the original Transformers television show for the first time and then proceed to talk about how dumb it looks.
These kids have grown up with Michael Bay's Transformers films, and as a result they are more than a little confused by some of the things they are seeing. For example, why does Bumblebee look so darn goofy? Why can Megatron transform into a giant gun? Why don't the Michael Bay films have super-catchy theme songs?
All fair questions, but questions these poor children will never find the answer to. Most of the kinds in the video are surprised to learn that Transformers began as a toy line before being made into a show back in 1984. Some knew it was an older property rebooted for the current generation, but few knew exactly how old Optimus and the rest of the Autobots really are.
Even though many of the kids couldn't help but laugh or be baffled by the original television show, most seemed willing to give the show a chance, if only to see how the whole franchise started. And there are some qualities from the original series that the kids seem to latch onto. Unlike the "Bayformers" from the films, the original Autobots and Decepticons actually look like vehicles, with their blocky-shaped and wheels/wings exposed. It's much different from the character designs seen in Bay's films, which are more jagged and give few hints as to what vehicle they might transform into.
These kids don't let Bay and Hollywood off the hook though. When TheFineBros begin to ask questions about rebooting old franchises, most of the kids say they would rather see new ideas as opposed to film and television companies always recreating older properties.
Kids, for once we agree on something.
