Michael Bay's Transformers films are known for their copious amounts of explosions, CGI and...not much else.
This 15-minute long, stop-motion animated fan film, brought to life with one man's Transformers toy collection, has more personality and soul than all of Bay's movies combined.
It's called Transformers Generation, and it's the work of animator Harris Loureiro. It's hard not to be impressed. The animation, the voice- acting, the action scenes, it's all top-notch and is guaranteed to put a smile on the face of any old-school Transformers fan.
The setup is simple - Bumblebee and Wheeljack are off on patrol when they are ambushed by Decepticon's. The Autobots call in for backup, but suddenly Devestator appears alongside a group of Predacons and Sixshot.
Things look grim for our heroes, that is until Optimus Prime arrives alongside the Dinobots to save the day. But the battle isn't finished yet. Megatron soon appears on the scene and it becomes a struggle for survival. The battle takes a turn for the worse, leaving plenty of room for a sequel.
Watching these toys come to life in such stunning fashion is sure to bring back memories for fans that grew up collecting/playing with these classic action figures. Hardcore collectors will no doubt be able to identify every figure on display in the film. The music that plays throughout the video is also a nice touch. It's like the 80s never ended.
