One of the biggest draws of Jurassic World is that, unlike the other franchise installments, the park is actually open this time around.
Following suit on the movie's lead is the upcoming video game LEGO Jurassic World, which features gameplay based on all four Jurassic Park movies. Just as in the new movie, the Jurassic World segments of the game feature a fully-realized theme park, including an island environment that you can freely roam and explore. Most of the activities seen in the new movie, such as riding in the unique Gyrosphere vehicles, are recreated in the game as well.
A brand new trailer for LEGO Jurassic World takes this conceit to heart. Instead of advertising the game, it's staged as an ad for the park itself — though in typical LEGO style, its tongue is firmly planted in-cheek. At one point, the voiceover states that Jurassic World is a "modern, completely safe facility," but just seconds later it offers a disclaimer about not being liabel "for any personal injury."
Among other things, the trailer also provides a few glimpses of environments from the new movie that have not yet been revealed in its trailers and clips. There's a better look at the gigantic, pyramid-shaped structure that caught our eye, because it looks fancy enough to be the park's new welcome center.
TT Games, the British studio responsible for creating all of the LEGO video games, has been on a roll lately. Its most recent titles, including The LEGO Movie: The Video Game, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes and LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham were all a blast to play. LEGO Jurassic World looks like it will continue the trend in a cool new setting and some terrific new innovations, such the opportunity to play as dinosaurs.
This fall, TT Games and Warner Bros. Interactive will release LEGO Marvel's Avengers and Skylanders competitor LEGO Dimensions.
LEGO Jurassic World will be in stores day-and-date with the movie, on June 12.
