Fight Club 2 #1 Is Out: What To Expect From Chuck Palahniuk And Schedule Of Release

Set years after the original graphic novel and movie adaptation, Fight Club 2 #1 is Chuck Palahniuk's much-awaited sequel to the story that made everybody break the number one rule of Fight Club: Do not talk about Fight Club.

A series of 10 graphic novels will be published by Dark Horse Comics, following the life of the narrator (played by Edward Norton in the film) who now goes by the name "Sebastian" and lives a very mundane life in the suburbs with his wife, Marla, and their son.

Of course, cracks beneath the surface begin to show and Tyler Durden starts to come back into his life. These unwelcome visits are kept in check by a daily dose of pills and visits to Dr. Wrong.

Palahniuk reveals that the first few issues of the novels will show how Sebastien and Marla have begun to lead separate lives although they are married and living together as a family.

"And then in the end they do come back together. And like all my previous works, it is a return to community with a happy ending with a dark twist that will upset a lot of people," he adds as a spoiler.

Aside from this series of 10 novels that will make up Fight Club 2, Palahniuk is also keeping tabs on a possible rock musical adaptation of the Fight Club movie with director David Fincher at the helm, Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Renzor working on the score, and Tony Award winning director Julie Taymor in talks to help bring the spectacle together on stage.

In the meantime, Palahniuk leaves for his book tour to promote his work Make Something Up: Stories You Can't Unread. He also reveals that he will work on the screenplay for a movie called Lullaby, which is scheduled to go into production this year, and also work on a film starring James Franco titled Rant.

The Fight Club 2, issue number 1 with artwork by Cameron Stewart is out May 27. Several variants of the cover are available for pre-order, one by cover artist David Mack, another by Lee Bermejo, and a third by Cameron Stewart.

The next issue is scheduled to be released on June 24.
