Shazam: Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson Says "Black Adam's" Hate Is Fueled By Righteous Anger

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is now hard at work promoting his new film, San Andreas. However, that did not stop him from talking a little about Shazam and his character, Black Adam.

From what we've come to understand, Black Adam won't just be another evil villain who wants world domination or just wish to kill everyone. As we know, he was a slave, and that did a number on his mentality. According to Johnson, his anger is righteous, so maybe the writers are aiming to make the audience feel for Black Adam.

"I can't wait," Johnson told HeyUGuys at the San Andreas world premiere. "He's a unique type of villain. When you start off as a slave, you're not in a good mood! There's a heavy wrath that a lot of people have to pay. But when it's fuelled by a righteous anger if you will, like Black Adam, then you open up to what the character can be which I'm really excited about. That's why he's not just a straightforward bad guy."

It appears from what Johnson had to say, Black Adam will definitely become an anti-hero. Furthermore, it would seem as if much of the film will be set around Black Adam instead of the hero, Shazam. If this is the case, then we are all for it because Shazam is not an interesting character at all.

His powers are similar to that of Black Adam in every way, and he's just a child who transforms into a super-powered adult. There's nothing particularly super-exciting about that, so Black Adam is needed to give the movie a little bit of spice.

With Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson at the helm of the project, we are sure this film will turn out just fine, or at least the Black Adam character will be done justice. We have never seen him or Shazam on the big screen before, so we can't wait for 2018 to pop up.
