Did you know that the original opening scene for Captain America: The Winter Soldier was completely different from what we eventually saw?
Now, some storyboards have come online that show the alternate opening scene, as well as earlier versions of other scenes in the film. Some of these are a lot different from what we saw in the final product.
James Rothwell created these animated versions of the storyboards from Captain America: The Winter Soldier based on the storyboards by Alex Hillkurtz, Richard Bennett and Philip Keller.
The Winter Soldier film opened with Steve Rogers and Sam Wilson jogging around Washington, D.C. together. However, in the storyboards, we see Steve having a dream about World War II, and Bucky (who later becomes The Winter Soldier in the movie), as well as his companions, the Howling Commandos, during that time period.
When Steve wakes up, he learns that one of the Howling Commandos, passed away.
Another video of storyboards shows us the car chase scene with Nick Fury. Although it's similar to what we saw in the film, there's a little more explanation as to why certain things happen in that scene the way they do.
Here's another storyboard scene with Fury as he's shot by Bucky, along with the chase scene that happens after that. This is almost identical to the version of that scene in the film.
Then there's the animated storyboard video of the awesome elevator fight scene.
Here's the animated storyboard version of the scene when Captain America and Black Widow reach Camp Lehigh, as well as the video message left there by Zola.
The final video shows Black Widow taking Steve to the Apple store.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier came out in 2014 and was the second movie in Marvel's Captain America series. It told the story of Steve Rogers coming to terms with being a man of the modern world, but also facing an enemy that was once his friend, Bucky Barnes.
