Apple has removed the eBay app listing from a list of featured apps on the company's website, leaving many confused as to whether there will be an app at all.
Despite the confusion, eBay has issued a statement saying that the app will be available to users within "coming weeks."
"The world's largest marketplace is now closer and more convenient than ever. eBay for Apple Watch helps you stay on top of the auctions you're watching," said the description for the app on Apple's website. "It can send outbid notices and other notifications directly to you, so you can react immediately."
The other apps that are featured on the list are available to download already, so it seems as though the app listing was probably pulled in order to avoid any confusion about which apps are available already and which are set to arrive soon.
"The eBay Apple Watch app will be making its way to the store in the coming weeks," said an eBay spokesperson.
While the app is no longer being listed on the U.S. Apple Watch site, it is being displayed on the Apple Canada and Mexico websites.
This is not the first time that Apple has removed Apple Watch app listings. In March, the company removed an app called Whole Pantry from the App Store and the Apple Watch page after allegations that app creator Belle Gibson faked being diagnosed with cancer in order to benefit her cause. These allegations ended up being true. Gibson also did not donate thousands of dollars collected through fundraisers, instead keeping the money that was donated.
The Apple Watch itself has been growing in popularity ever since it was first released, and almost immediately upon release, the device was sold out for weeks. Orders for the Apple Watch began shipping to customers a few weeks ago. Buyers who order the device today will have to wait until sometime in July to receive their order.
While users will not be able to keep track of their eBay accounts immediately, there are plenty of apps available in the meantime. The list of Apple Watch apps available to users has also been steadily growing since the release of the device. There are currently around 4,000 apps on the App Store for the Apple Watch, and that list is only set to grow.
Despite the popularity of the device, many suggest that it underperforms a little, and that the second version of the device will be a little more advanced.
