Do you know the physics parable of Schrodinger's Cat? You might think you do, but indie video game Schrodinger's Cat and the Raiders of the Lost Quark by Italic Pig lets us know that not only did the cat live, but he also escaped from the box and became a superhero who could do really awesome things.
The game, which stars that very famous physics cat, comes from the team behind Hector: Badge of Carnage and features A.J. LoCascio as the voice of the cat (he was Marty McFly in Telltale's Back to the Future). The game combines genres by giving the player an open world that's part combat and part puzzler and very character-driven.
Gameplay takes place in a setting called the Particle Zoo, where a disaster opens up all the gates and lets out all the primitive particles. The zoo goes into lockdown mode and those in charge call up their emergency services: Schrodinger's Cat.
But Schrodinger brings friends to help him put the particles back in place: an army of quarks. Schrodingers also has superpowers, including 14 unique abilities that help him traverse over 30 levels of gameplay.
"Combine and create useful bits of temporary matter - copters, drills, bubbles and grenades - to combat and subdue all the subatomic critters running amok, and help Schrodinger's Cat work out how they all got out of their cages in the first place," writes the game developers.
