People have lately been talking about the new tweaks in Gmail town. Google, apparently, can't get its hands off till it develops new features for its email users.
After all, people rely too much on emails these days, whether for heavy correspondence or exchanges or for as simple as event reminder, so Google has a good reason right there.
Google seems to have developed new features to incorporate in its email client Gmail. It said there are more tabs that can separate a variety of emails from each other. While the current groups or categories of email client are Social, Forums, Updates and Promotions, now it has added Travel, Finances and Purchases into the basket.
Another tweak is the ability to pin important emails in the Inbox and lets one see right where one wants it--right at the top of the Inbox. Yes, Gmail has a Pinned feature now. To help with the pins, there's a toggle switch for easy switching from pinned emails to original email list. At present, Gmail has the current star system, which lets the user mark an important message with a yellow star, but still the email gets drowned in the flood of daily correspondence -- that is, at least, for a heavy user. Perhaps, a toggle switch would do better this time.
It's no alarm clock all right, but yes, it seems Gmail has a snoozing feature included. With snoozing, the email appears as read in the Inbox till the timer goes off. If it does, it will climb back to the top of the Inbox as an unread email. Snoozing is allowed in hours or weeks depending on the user.
Accidentally discarded an important email? Gmail has covered such recovery feature in the update, since there's a new trashcan created for retrieving discarded notes. However, the discarded notes are there temporarily.
Beyond the changes in the look and feel of the email client, it appears Google is up for more.
"This is not very likely a final version of Gmail. These shots are the result of Google trying out new features to see what will work for Gmail before making them available to the public. It's pretty clear that Google's goal with each of these features is to make email something you can better organize and manipulate to serve your needs, which in turn gives them a better idea of what information you think is important for Google Now and other services," said Geek.com.
