Multiple reports surfaced Thursday about Floyd Mayweather Jr. willing to post Suge Knight's $10 million bail.
Knight's lawyer Matthew Fletcher even spoke about it to the New York Daily News, saying he expects that to happen this weekend after Mayweather successfully defeats Manny Pacquiao at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday night.
Interesting story...too bad it's not true. A close member of Mayweather's The Money Team camp told TMZ Sports that Floyd will not be posting Knight's $10 million bail if he defeats Pacquiao this Saturday night.
The Mayweather confidant also added that Fletcher was flat out wrong to insinuate that and worse put it out there for the media to disseminate. The source continued, explaining that at one time Mayweather and Knight were close, but haven't been in contact for several years now.
Fletcher told TMZ Sports that the only reason he put it out there was that Knight's family told him it was going to happen after a possible Mayweather win this Saturday night.
Was this just an attempt to put it out there in hopes that it may happen? Hmm...
Knight awaits trial, pleading not guilty to a hit-and-run murder, stating that he was simply defending himself.
Meanwhile, Mayweather and Pacquiao had their final press conference and stare down Wednesday, now just over 24 hours away from meeting in their highly-anticipated mega bout. Who's winning Saturday night?
