Laila Ali Dismisses Floyd Mayweather Saying He's Better Than Her Dad

When Floyd Mayweather Jr. declared that he was the best boxer of all time last week — even better than Muhammad Ali — it ruffled a lot of feathers, especially amongst fans of the beloved ex-champion.

It's all part of the run-up to the fight on May 2 between Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao.

But upon learning of Mayweather's boastful claim this week, Ali offered this retort via Twitter as a little reminder.

When TMZ Sports cameras caught up with Laila Ali a few days later, she made sure to sneak in a couple more Mayweather jabs on behalf of her dad.

"Look, at the end of the day, there's nothing wrong with feeling that way about yourself as a fighter, but it doesn't make it true," Laila told TMZ Sports about Mayweather's claim, essentially dismissing it and only recognizing "The Greatest" as her legendary father. "He really feels that way and that's OK ... you're supposed to feel that way about yourself."

As TMZ continued to pester her, Laila informed them that she wouldn't be in attendance at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday night to see the Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao fight live.

She also blamed TMZ for giving rumors about her possibly facing UFC women's champ Ronda Rousey some legs. Laila reinforced that she's a retired boxer who doesn't do mixed martial arts and therefore would never seriously entertain the idea of fighting Rousey. And that's that.

Update: Mike Tyson didn't seem to appreciate Mayweather saying he is better than Ali either.
