TV Ratings: 'Agents of SHIELD' Fell While 'The Flash' Speeds To The Top

Agents of SHIELD and The Flash had great episodes on Tuesday, but only one came out on top of the ratings after the smoke cleared. As it turns out, The Flash came out the winner as Agents of SHIELD tumbled to another low point.

According to the latest ratings, The Flash rose 15 percent compared to its performance the week before. That's great, as it shows there's a lot of interest in the show, especially as it comes down to the final hurdle in season one.

The last few episodes are preparing viewers for the final confrontation between Barry and The Reverse Flash. Barry wants revenge for the death of his mother, Nora Allen, while Eobard Thawne, The Reverse Flash, just wants to get home since he has been trapped in the past for the last 15 years.

As for Agents of SHIELD, the show slipped 13 percent in the ratings. Very disappointing considering how great Tuesday night's episode was. The episode had a slight tie-in to the Avengers: Age of Ultron and highlighted the plans for the Inhumans.

We got to see the reunion of the old team, although it was sad to see Grant Ward leave again in the end because his presence brought new life to the show. Skye was great as she now has control over her powers due to training while Raina seems to be planning something huge. She probably wants to cause mistrust in order for her to leave Afterlife.

At the end of the day, SHIELD is a good series, but it is easy to see why the show is always falling behind The Flash.

Being tied to the movies has crippled Agents of SHIELD, while The Flash is its own thing, so the writers have more freedom to express themselves.

If there is one thing SHIELD does right that The Flash doesn't, it would have to be the depiction of relationships. On The Flash, we have adults acting like teenagers in their intimate relationships, while, with SHIELD, relationships feel real and not cheesy.
