Robert Downey Jr. has made a lot of rounds with interviews this week, promoting his upcoming film Avengers: Age of Ultron, in which he plays Tony Stark, aka Iron Man. However, when Downey sat down with The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, he got emotional as the two played a game of "Emotional Interview."
In this clip from the interview, Downey gets emotional about everything from philosophy to the smell of bacon (which is, obviously, something we all get emotional over).
Things, however, get a little awkward when Fallon must admit that he forgot Downey's birthday and the two men start fishing for compliments.
However, it's the statements they make when they're cued to act as if they have no self-confidence that are particularly funny (especially Fallon, who probably admits something every man fears).
You can watch the video below:
Downey's face shows a variety of emotions, but what else can we expect of a man who's been acting since 1970? Of course, we question his choices when the topic was that he smelled bacon (he seems offended by that imaginary smell), but he obviously had some fun with this interview.
We're guessing Downey enjoyed this chat more than the interview he did recently with journalist Krishnan Guru-Murthy, who got away from questions about Age of Ultron to pry into Downey's past, including his history with drugs and prison. That interview ended with Downey standing up and walking away.
Downey did have his share of problems with drugs, but the actor states he has now been sober since 2003. Downey is also now one of America's top paid actors, taking in around $75 million just last year.
This interview also goes over much better than one done with Downey's Avengers co-stars, Chris Evans and Jeremy Renner, who were caught on camera calling Scarlett Johannson's character, Black Widow, a "slut" and a "whore." The two eventually apologized, although Renner's apology fell flat with many women.
