The Apple online store sells the Apple Watch Edition with either a fluoroelastomer sport band or a number of leather bands. While some of these bands are coupled with a gold pin or buckle, the store doesn't show a variant that comes with an entirely gold band.
Beyoncé is one of the lucky few to be able to sport a customized edition of the Watch, which is not available for sale to the general public. The "Love on Top" singer reportedly shared a number of photos on her website, which showed her wearing the Watch while partying at the Coachella music festival.
So far, Beyoncé is the second person to be seen sporting the limited-edition wearable from Apple. The first was German fashion designer Chanel creative director Karl Lagerfeld, who was seen wearing the Watch a few days ago.
Other celebrities who received an early or custom variant of the Apple Watch include rapper Drake, Pharrell Williams (known for the hit song "Happy") and Katy Perry ("Firework").
The Apple Watch became available for online preorders starting on April 10. On Friday, April 24, the watches will start being delivered to initially nine countries such as the U.S., Japan, the UK, Hong Kong, Germany, France, China, Canada and Australia.
The price of the Apple Watch seen on Beyoncé is speculated to be even higher than the top-of-the-line Apple Watch Edition that is priced at $17,000. However, it is still cheaper than the diamond-filled custom-made model that retails at $114,995.
The Apple Watch, which comes in three variants, allows users to do a number of things right from their wrist, including check emails, listen to music and make phone calls when the device is paired with an iPhone. The prices range from $549 to $1,099. The Watch Sport series has prices that range from $349 to $399, while the premium Edition begins at $10,000 and goes as high as $17,000.
Anna Wintour of Vogue and J.J. Abrams (actor, director and producer) were also seen wearing the Apple Watch.
Beyoncé and the other celebrities have been sharing images of the Apple Watch on social media. Beyoncé, on her part, was seen wearing the Watch on her official site www.beyonce.com. Katy Perry made a post on her Instagram that showed her red band Apple Watch adorned with a Mickey Mouse face.
