The nonstop release of new smartphones makes one wonder if anyone can really keep up with this technological craze - nonstop as well.
Take Samsung, for instance, officially launching again a new baby in the house.
The company will launch its Samsung Galaxy S5 on March 27 in India. The S5 is the latest in the widely successful flagship range of the company. Price of the device may be a bit above Rs 40,000.
It hasn't been confirmed, though, if said phone will be out on sale during the event. Pre-orders, however, will kick off for the said model, together with several introductory discounts as well as operator and service tie-ups exclusive to India. Official public selling will start on April 11, as announced in the Samsung Unpacked 5 event sometime in February.
What's to expect with the new device?
The S5 has not much difference from the earlier editions, especially with the S4, having closely similar general profile. Earlier though, Samsung Galaxy S4 received reviews criticizing its lackluster performance.
The Galaxy S5 has the same design language forward, with only minor changes. Instead of the glossy panel on the back of the S4, a dimpled polycarbonate exterior replaces it on the S5. The colors will come in Copper Gold, Charcoal Black, Electric Blue and Shimmery White, which target the varied preferences of consumers. It is resistant to dust and water, too. Its waterproof feature, however, makes the handset a bit bulky.
It also boasts of an enhanced comprehensive personal fitness tracker called S Health 3.0 that assists users in monitoring and managing their behavior. Additional tools are a pedometer, built-in heart-rate monitor and diet and exercise records. For real-time fitness coaching, the device will flawlessly pair with the next generation Gear products.
The phone also boasts of a finger print scanner in its Home button, giving a secure screen-locking feature as well as a safe and smooth mobile payment experience for its consumers. The fingerprint scanner also allows you to login to several services with merely a swipe.
Its biggest upgrade points to the camera, thanks to its world's fastest autofocus speed of 0.3 seconds, add to that an advanced High Dynamic Range (HDR). Selective focus has also been added to help users focus on a certain angle of an object, while it blurs out the background.
Samsung said the S5 offers the best experience in LTE and Wi-Fi connectivity. It supports the fifth generation Wi-Fi 802.11ac and 2X2 MIMO. It backs the large number of LTE frequency with LTE Category 4 standard. Not to forget a Download Booster Wi-Fi technology for data speed by connecting LTE and Wi-Fi simultaneously.
Expectations on the Galaxy S5 are high, with some saying it may be among the most popular smartphones in 2014.
To experience several top features of the device through interactive experience modes, you can download the Galaxy S5 Experience app via Google Play.
