Microsoft Updates OneDrive App So You Can View And Search Photos On Apple Watch

Microsoft released a new app update for its OneDrive cloud storage service that features its first support on the Apple Watch across a number of iOS apps and services. The update will now allow iOS users to display and view any of their cloud-based photos on their Apple Watch. They can also delete and find photos according to tags and view their albums.

In addition to viewing photos, Microsoft also enhanced the viewing of any PDF files that are stored on the iPhone and the iPad. The latest update now allows users to search for text within their PDF files and even go from page to page by a simple swipe. Lastly, users can now print their PDF files directly from their iOS devices.

"OneDrive is the one place for everything in your work and personal life," said Microsoft. "It gives you free online storage for all your personal files."

People who use their files at work or school can take advantage of OneDrive for Business, which allows them to store, share and collaborate their work files with other people.

While it is true that viewing photos on the Apple Watch's 1.5- or 1.7-inch display may not be the best experience, it's still a laudable move by Microsoft as it tries to provide support even to rival platforms.

Microsoft's OneDrive offers a number of ways for users to utilize their files quickly and more effectively. With OneDrive, users can easily browse, share, move, delete and rename their files. They can automatically upload images and videos to their personal OneDrive account with the help of a camera backup. They can quickly go back to their recently opened documents. They can open their OneDrive files across a number of other apps, including Office apps.

"If you have a new Apple Watch, you can enjoy your OneDrive photos right from your wrist!" said Microsoft. The company also thanked those who sent feedback on working with PDFs within the app.

"We're listening, and we included a new PDF viewing experience in this update!"

Microsoft also recently announced that OneDrive has a new API that enhances support for developers when they integrate the cloud storage service in the apps.
