Google Store Drops Moto 360 Price From $250 To $165

The Motorola Moto 360 smartwatch has received a price slash, with the device now being sold for only $165 compared to the original price of $250 on the Google Store.

In addition to the price slash on the Google Store, the Moto 360 also received a massive discount of $100 on all variants being sold on Amazon and Best Buy, which will allow even more users to purchase and enjoy the Android Wear-powered smartwatch. The Google Store, however, is only offering the smartwatch in its stone gray and standard leather black models.

A $165 Moto 360 smartwatch is definitely an affordable one now, especially compared to the recently released and much-hyped Apple Watch, which has prices that start at $349. The price cut could also be a way for the Moto 360 to maintain, or even increase, its user base with the pending release of the Apple Watch.

The discount on the Moto 360 does not look like it will only be a temporary offer and could simply be a price reduction. While the price drop could mean that Google is looking to drive up sales of the smartwatch, it could also mean that the next version of the Moto 360 is due to be released soon.

The Google Store highlights the Moto 360 as a "modern timepiece that keeps you up to the minute without taking you away from the moment."

The Moto 360 is described as a device that is created with quality materials and craftsmanship. The smartwatch doubles as an activity tracker and is certified to be water- and dust-resistant. It is also said to have a battery that can last for up to 24 hours.

The Moto 360 has proven itself to be the "king of Android Wear," as Android news website Android Community calls it, and so it is understandable that users are looking forward to the changes that could be coming in the next version of the Moto 360.

According to sourced information regarding the Moto 360 successor, the device will feature a better, circular display at a resolution of 360 x 360 pixels, along with Google's latest mobile operating system, Android 5.1 Lollipop.

There have been a few reportedly leaked images of the Moto 360 successor, with the latest leaked image showing a similar design to the earlier version. However, with holes on its sides, it seems that the straps are meant to be inserted into them.
