We're just a couple weeks away from the official launch of the Apple Watch. As the reviews of the smartwatch now start to pour in, you're probably more eager than ever to get your hands on one of these babies. But how do you make sure you get the Apple Watch right when it comes out on April 24?
Well, you're probably going to have to be up a little late Thursday night. Pre-order for the Apple Watch begins Friday, April 10 at 12:01 a.m. PST, 3 a.m. EST, according to a new press release from the company. But let's be real. You're probably going to be up watching Marvel's Daredevil on Netflix at that time anyway. Put the show on pause for a sec and head over to Apple's online store to pre-order the Apple Watch so you make sure you receive it by April 24.
This isn't really much of a suggestion but more of a necessity. Apple will be taking orders exclusively online at first, Apple's Senior Vice President of Retail and Online Stores Angela Ahrendts said in the press release. This comes after Business Insider obtained a memo from Ahrendts to Apple Store employees outlining the company's new strategy to focus on online sales of the Apple Watch during the product launch.
While this does mean those insanely long lines in front of the Apple Store will be a thing of the past for now, it doesn't mean that you can't try before you buy. You can still take the Apple Watch for a spin at Apple Store locations in Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, the U.K. and the U.S., according to the press release. Galeries Lafayette in Paris, Isetan in Tokyo, Selfridges in London and select authorized retailers in Japan and China will also have the Apple Watch on hand for you to test drive. However, Apple suggests making an appointment before you head out to the store.
God speed, all you early adopters. God speed.
