How Many Whole Chickens Can The Mountain From 'Game Of Thrones' Eat? A Lot, According To Peter Dinklage

Strongman Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson plays Ser Gregor Clegane, AKA "The Mountain That Rides", on HBO's Game of Thrones.

He has broken multiple strength records, including an ancient (and probably made-up) viking record by carrying a massive tree on his back for five steps. Perhaps it isn't surprising then that Björnsson is a hungry, hungry man.

Peter Dinklage was on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart last night to promote the fifth season of Game of Thrones and in the process spilled some interesting details about Björnsson's ridiculous eating habits.

Dinklage tells Jon about a time when he joined Björnsson for dinner in Croatia while filming the show. Whereas a normal human would be challenged to eat even one whole roast chicken, Dinklage says Björnsson ate seven.

"He ate seven chickens," Dinklage says. "Like whole chickens, like roast chicken," as Stewart jokes, "Oh, so they were cooked?"

SEVEN chickens! That's basically a brood! Perhaps the dinner took place shortly after The Mountain finished smashing Oberyn Martell's head like a melon. Nothing works up an appetite like a good old fashioned trial by combat. Go ahead and add Gregor Clegane to the list of Game of Thrones characters you definitely don't want to invite to a dinner party, along with Jon Snow.

Dinklage had plenty of other Game of Thrones stories to tell as well. He comments on how the show is making some big changes from George R.R. Martin's book series. Stewart asks if Martin ever appears on set of the show to yell "No!" at certain changes.

"He used to," Dinklage says. "He's busy lately, he's writing those books." He goes on to say his heart goes out to Martin, as fans put him under a lot of pressure to see the books completed before the show. He also expressed his concern for Tyrion's future on the show.

"I don't know if I die or when I die," Dinklage says of the inevitable season six and seven of the show. "A woman the other day said to me, I hadn't had my morning coffee yet, she said 'I hope you don't die.' I didn't put it together because I'm a wreck before I have my coffee. It was so weird. And it took me a second, it was so terrifying."

Don't worry, Peter. We are sure Martin and company would never, ever kill off one of the show's star characters. That would be unheard of.
