If you are still playing Angry Birds on your smartphone, it may be time to download some new games.
Whether you have an iPhone or Android, the App Store and Google Play is constantly updating its library to include new apps and games.
With the start of a new month, it's time to do some virtual spring cleaning and get rid of the old and download the new. Here are the best new mobile games released April 2015 for both iOS and Android devices.
Best Free Mobile Games For iOS
Mortal Kombat X
On April 14, Mortal Kombat X will be released for Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC; however, gamers can get their fingers on the latest Mortal Kombat early thanks to the Wednesday release of the iOS version.
Mortal Kombat X includes more than 24 characters, including classics such as Scorpion and Raiden, along with some new ones like Kotal Khan. There is also the option to unlock gear and "more dramatic, over-the-top Fatalities" by continuous playing or by purchasing these features.
The game is free to download on an iOS device like your iPhone 6 or iPad Air 2 but won't yet be available for Android users just yet.
Mr. Jump
If you are a fan of Flappy Bird, then Mr. Jump is the game for you. The app first launched on March 19, with more than five million downloads in its first four days, but it was just updated on April 4 to fix a bug on non-Retina iPads at level five. To play, just tap on the screen to make the character jump. This may sound simple, but it's more challenging than what appears to the eye. The levels are tricky with obstacles that will test your reflex skills. Download Mr. Jump for free only on iOS devices.
Hellrider
This game is Mad Max meets The Walking Dead — well, technically, you are battling skeletons, not zombies. Hellrider has you smashing skeletons limb by limb on a bike as they try to escape the underworld. There are dangerous traps throughout the levels, and the new April 7 update includes three new characters to play with, including Ducky Duck. Hellrider is free to download on iOS devices.
Best Free Mobile Games For Android
The Quest Keeper
If you are looking for a mobile game that combines multiple elements, then The Quest Keeper is for you. Not only is it an adventure game, but there are also RPG elements in it as well as an endless runner mode. There are 10 quests to complete, and its April 7 update fixed various bugs like glitches in graphics. The app is free to download in the Play Store, and offers in-app purchases.
CivCrafter
All you need to do in this mobile game is tap on your screen. CivCrafter allows you to create an entire civilization with just the tap of your finger. Join the 50 million gamers worldwide (including Apple users) to build an army and battle other clans to rule the world. The April 5 update includes the ability to change your ruler and civ names, allows you to keep your Cats and fixed the Trophy/Skill rewards to fairy reward tough raids. CivCrafter is available to download for free with in-app purchases in Google Play.
Modern Combat 5: Blackout
If you love a good shooter game, then Modern Combat 5: Blackout is for you. Go head-to-head in Squad vs. Squad matches by adding your friends in multiplayer mode or play solo and pick the style you prefer whether that's Assault, Heavy, Recon or Sniper. Modern Combat 5: Blackout is available to download only in the Play Store for free with in-app purchases.
