Alabama Mom's Facebook Apology For Daughters' Rude Behavior At Movie House Goes Viral

An apology by an Alabama mom for the rude behavior of her two daughters went viral on Facebook, proving that parents can also use the social network to their advantage.

Kyesha Smith Wood found out from her son that her two teenage daughters displayed rude behavior to a mother and daughter pair in a local movie house. Furious, she had her daughter write an apology.

However, she did not know who the apology should go to. Wood decided to go to Facebook for her search for the offended mother and daughter, posting a plea on the closed Facebook page for their local community.

The post, which was shared by the Sherriff's Office of Jefferson Country on the same night, now has over 250,000 likes.

"This is a long shot, but I'm looking for a woman that was at Tannehill Premier tonight seeing Cinderella at 7pm," Wood started in her post.

She then narrated the events of the evening as told by her son, who accompanied his two sisters to the movie. According to her son, the two teenagers were obnoxious and rude throughout watching the movie, with the woman that Wood was looking for asking them to be quiet. However, the teenagers continued with their rudeness.

At the end of the movie, the woman talked to the teenagers and told them that the movie may be the last one that her daughter would see for a while due to her husband being laid off from work. The teenagers ruined the movie for her daughter, the woman said.

Wood asked the woman to contact her if by chance she sees her plea on Facebook, as her two daughters owe her an apology.

Wood also said that they will be paying for the next movie with snacks of the woman and her daughter, which will be taken out of the allowance of the disrespectful teenagers.

The woman that Wood was looking for was Rebecca Boyd, who saw the post as it was shared by the sheriff's office. Boyd then contacted Wood.

"The note from their mom brought me to tears and shows there is still good people in the world," wrote Boyd on the Facebook page of the sheriff's office.

Boyd added that she had no hard feeling towards the teenagers, but was proud of the girls' parents. She also said that while the teenagers were not necessarily bad, as they were still children, she was happy that they will learn a lesson from the ordeal.

Wood, however, thought that it was Boyd that was the hero of the encounter, as she was the one that decided to attempt to correct the behavior of the teenagers when nobody else wanted to do it.

Wood and Boyd are now good friends on Facebook.

Boyd also revealed that after the incident, her husband started to receive job offers.
