Sledgehammer Games and Activision will be releasing the "Ascendance" DLC pack for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare on March 31 for Xbox One and Xbox 360 gamers.
The gameplay for the DLC pack, however, will already be previewed on March 29 at the 2015 Call of Duty Championship that will be broadcast through Xbox Live and through other broadcasting partners.
"Ascendance," which is the second DLC pack for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, will feature four new multiplayer maps, a bonus weapon, a custom weapon variant and the new Exo Grapple ability.
"'Ascendance' has it all, four all-new maps that were designed from the ground up for Exo abilities and the next chilling entry in the Exo Zombies experience," said Sledgehammer Games co-studio head Michael Condrey.
Glen Schofield, also a Sledgehammer Games co-studio head, praised "Havoc," the first DLC pack for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, as a great launching DLC, with "Ascendance" delivering even more action to the gamers.
The four new maps in "Ascendance" are named Perplex, Site 244, Climate and Chop Shop.
Perplex takes place in a five-story modular apartment building that constantly changes as construction drones move the apartment's modules.
Site 244 takes gamers to Mt. Rushmore where a crashed alien spaceship has spilled mysterious cargo, with the map's scorestreak allowing gamers to open up alien spores to enhance exo abilities and perks.
Climate happens in a man-made, climate-controlled enclosure, with a river that changes from being friendly to harmful.
Lastly, Chop Shop has players fighting it out in an industrial complex, with the map's scorestreak allowing gamers to secure certain areas through an Advanced Repulsion Turret.
The new weapon in "Ascendance" is the OHM directed energy light machine gun-shotgun hybrid weapon, and the custom variant is for the OHM Werewolf.
The Exo Grapple ability, on the other hand, lets gamers reach strategic vantage points faster, but it can also function as a deadly secondary weapon.
In "Ascendance," Exo Zombies also continues with a new episode that sees John Malkovich, Bill Paxton, Rose McGowan and Jon Bernthal reprise their roles as Atlas employees that are fighting through hordes of zombies.
"Ascendance" will be available for the price of $15. The DLC pack is also part of the Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Season Pass that purchases all four planned DLC packs for the year for only $49.99. Season Pass holders also gain instant access to the bonus weapons found in the "Ascendance" DLC pack.
