The Thin Mint ranks high on the most favored cookie list, and now some lucky foodies will be able to get their fix without waiting for those beloved green boxes to come in the mail.
A troop of Girl Scouts in Salem, N.H., is selling their cookies from a Girl Scout Cookie drive-thru that is making our Thin Mint dreams come true.
That's right, it's time to get giddy:
Business-savvy Troop 12115 knows how to sell their cookies. What better way to make quick sales than to allow customers to purchase their Girl Scout Cookies from the convenience of their cars? Imagine just driving up and telling that adorable little girl you want 50 boxes of Thin Mints.
Dreams really do come true -- and they should get an extra badge just for thinking of this idea.
The troop set up shop in a vacant warehouse located on Main Street in Salem this past Sunday. Its location gets lots of traffic, so there is lots of money-making potential. Come on, if you saw a Girl Scout drive-thru, wouldn't you stop for some Samoas and Tagalongs? Apparently a lot of people would, because Troop 12115 has sold over 1,200 boxes.
While that is a lot of boxes sold, the troop has a goal of selling 5,000 boxes. Hopefully the drive-thru helps them reach their goal, but it is not clear if delivering Girl Scout Cookies right to car windows was a one-time deal or if the troop members will come back each Sunday.
Of course, we hope that more Girl Scout Cookie drive-throughs pop up, especially since this one is Salem is not the first. Troops in Wisconsin and Colorado have sold their goodies this way in February.
If only Girl Scout drive-thrus opened permament shop in every city. We will keep dreaming.
