The Walking Dead season five finale creeps ever closer, and there's only a few short weeks left before the show goes on hiatus yet again.
Of course, the season's not over yet, and that means AMC has released another teaser for this week's upcoming episode, "Spend."
Even better yet, this teaser's a bit different than usual: instead of Rick growling something ominous into the camera or zombies being zombies, it's just a quiet conversation between Eugene and Tara:
Alright, maybe it's not an entirely quiet conversation, but it is nice to see a trailer focus on someone else for a change. It feels like most of the trailers focus on the core group of survivors - which is understandable - but the group has gotten a lot bigger over the past few seasons, and it's nice to see the focus shift to someone new every once in a while.
As usual, the trailer's light on anything story or action (save for an early eye-stabbing), but it focuses on what makes the show great to watch: the characters. Anyone unfamiliar with Eugene will know exactly who they're dealing with after watching the teaser - which should be useful for anyone jumping in last-minute before the season finale in a couple of weeks.
Next week's episode is one of the season's final three, and things are going to start ramping up (as if they haven't already) - expect Eugene to either finally get his hands dirty or fail to make an appearance next season.
The Walking Dead's next episode, "Spend," airs this Sunday at 8pm on AMC.
