Jared Leto had his long hair and biblical beard removed for the role of The Joker in the 2016 Suicide Squad movie.
That's not all the star did. He also had his hair bleached. His new hairstyle doesn't yet scream "The Joker," but it is getting close.
Apart from the bleached blond hair, Leto also had his eyebrows removed, which means we are down for getting an actual comic book rendition of The Joker for the first time on the big screen. We're not taking anything away from Heath Ledger's performance because we thought it was wonderful.
Already, many fanboys are losing their minds because they believe Warner Bros. is going with a bleached blond-haired Joker. However, this is not the case because Leto's hairstylist Chase Kusero posted an image on his Instagram account that showed off what appears to be green dye.
Bear in mind that The Joker's hair in the comic books is green, so Kusero is definitely teasing the authentic look of the character.
Right now, filming won't begin until April of this year and won't end until September. The movie is then set to release in August 2016, three months after the release of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
The film will see the likes of Will Smith as Deadshot and Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn. Furthermore, Viola Davis is expected to appear as Amanda Waller, Jai Courtney as Boomerang and Cara Delevingne as the Enchantress.
At the moment, no one is certain where the storyline will go and whether or not director David Ayer will focus mainly on the Suicide Squad. We'd love to see the film strongly attach itself the broader DC Cinematic Multiverse, but for now that is only wishful thinking.
Hopefully, we'll get to see the full reveal of Jared Leto as The Joker, along with all the other actors as their respective characters before filming begins.
