HTC joined Samsung in unveiling its latest flagship smartphones at a press event in Barcelona. The company launched the 5-inch HTC One M9 to kick off Mobile World Congress 2015.
Ever since HTC launched the original HTC One M7 at Mobile World Congress in 2013, the company has been consistent in building its latest flagship smartphones with a magic ingredient that comes in the form of metal. The metal body and design has continued to give HTC the title of best-looking Android smartphone on the market and the just-introduced HTC One M9 will surely keep it up there.
"HTC has built its reputation on challenging expectations in the mobile industry," said Cher Wang, Chairwoman, HTC. "The HTC One M9 accomplishes this once again with stunning elegance and design, combined with smart features that help bring your world to life, connecting you in a deeper way to the things you consider most important. So much more than just a phone, the HTC One M9 is an extension of who you are."
The HTC One M9 features a 5-inch 1920 x 1080 Full HD Super LCD3 display and will ship with Android 5.0 out of the box and HTC Sense 7. It's powered by a fast 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810, octa-core 64-bit, 4 x 2.0GHz + 4 x 1.5GHz processor, Adreno 430 GPU (graphics processing unit) and 3GB of RAM. Its camera capabilities include a 20-megapixel rear camera with sapphire cover lens and UltraPixel front-facing shooter for video chat and selfies. It will ship with 32GB of internal storage and micoSD expansion slot that will support up to 128GB microSD cards. Its large 2,840 mAh battery will provide up to 25 hours of talk time.
HTC hasn't provided an exact release date but says the HTC One M9 will ship in March. We'll keep you posted on carrier and pricing availability as it becomes available.
