Incredible Photo: Ice-Covered Jeep Leaves, Ice Stays Put

This is without a doubt the most mind-blowing thing you'll see all day.

In the U.S., the east and southeast are experiencing some record low temperatures. Some places like Boston are getting incredible amounts of snow, while others are covered in freezing rain and sleet.

After a recent freezing rainfall in Greenville, North Carolina, something thoroughly unexpected — and pretty spectacular — happened.

A driver parked his or her Jeep in the parking lot of the Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. We don't know how long it was parked there, or who the Jeep belonged to. But when the Jeep left its parking spot, the ice that had been covering didn't move. It didn't collapse, it didn't melt, it stayed perfectly in place like a beautifully intricate ice sculpture.

A pair of photographers took pictures of the unusual phenomenon and sent them to local news station WITN. According to the station, one of the photographers theorized that the ice separated from the car so cleanly because the Jeep's owner may have left its engine running for a while before driving away. If true, then the warmth from the engine would have heated the ice just enough to keep it from sticking to the Jeep while leaving the vehicle's imprint intact. However it happened, the ice remained firmly stuck to the curb, allowing the entire ice impression to stand alone.

Admit it: you want your own car grille ice sculpture. Don't you.
