Ain't nobody got time to eat dessert—so we might as well just drink it. Starbucks released two limited-time flavored lattes to its menu, and they pretty much taste just like cake.
Making its return this year is the fan favorite Caramel Flan Latte. The coffee giant has also added the brand new Tiramisu Latte, which was tested out last year and is now available at Starbucks locations nationwide.
The Caramel Flan Latte, which includes steamed milk and espresso, is described as having "caramel flavors of creamy flan." The drink is garnished with whipped cream and caramel drizzle.
The new Tiramisu Latte contains "hints of mascarpone flavor and a delicate dusting of rich cocoa espresso powder," making it pretty much your favorite Italian cake in liquid form.
The new Starbucks flavored lattes will be available during the winter months, although no end date has been revealed.
It appears as if specialty coffee drinks are focusing more on sweet flavors - ahem, Pumpkin Spice, Gingerbread Latte - rather than the coffee itself. Who needs that shot of caffeine anyway when your coffee is loaded with tons of sugar?
All we really want to do is walk around sipping on lattes that taste just like cake anyway. Did you know that a grande Caramel Macchiato has 32 grams of sugar? Well it does, and the World Health Organization only recommends 25 grams per day for adults.
A long with the two lattes being added to the menu on Tuesday, Starbucks also added the option for customers to order their coffee with coconut milk. The Single Origin Sumatra Coconut Milk, which provides a dairy alternative, will cost customers 60 cents more.
Continuing the sweet theme, Starbucks also added a chocolate caramel muffin to its breakfast, along with a bacon, egg and cheddar cheese breakfast sandwich.
We can't wait to see what dessert flavor Starbucks will come up with next.
