A number of recent focus and information leaks have revolved around the Galaxy S6's form and build materials as it inches closer to its launch date. Samsung promises that its upcoming flagship device will feature the company's most intelligent camera technology to date.
According to Samsung, the new Galaxy S6 will be able to automatically manage the area's lighting conditions, enhance its HDR techniques and improve the camera experience intuitively. This way, users will end up having amazing pictures in all sorts of conditions.
Samsung has added that it has been working on the smart camera software for the past several years. Users can definitely expect to see a number of camera and gallery app features with the launching of the Galaxy S6.
"Our users do not need to worry about the appropriate camera settings for different lighting environments or where to find different functions or how to edit and share the photo they just took," said Samsung.
DongHoon Jang, senior vice-president and head of the camera R&D group of Samsung, said that the company has been focusing on the Galaxy devices' camera features. They have focused primarily on the advancements that were made on their flagship devices, which began from the Galaxy S to the Galaxy S5.
"We meticulously evaluate every single facet of our smartphone cameras by taking over 10,000 photos in every imaginable lighting environment for analysis. It will be intelligent and do all the thinking for users," Jang remarked about the Galaxy S6 and its camera.
Jang also mentioned the first time that the company introduced a cellphone that came with an integrated camera. In the year 2000, Samsung successfully set an industry standard after it had integrated its SCH-V200 model with a 0.3MP camera.
By labeling the flagship's camera as intelligent, Samsung may be hinting that it is streamlining the TouchWiz camera app. This action may cut down on the various options, enabling the user to focus more on the camera's point-and-shoot functionality.
Samsung is said to launch the Galaxy S6 flagship and its curved-display version, purportedly called Galaxy S6 Edge, on its Galaxy Unpacked event on Mar. 1.
