Our hearts broke when Wilson drifted away from Tom Hanks' island-dwelling character in the 1999 movie Cast Away. But after 15 years of separation, the volleyball and Oscar award-winning actor have finally reunited.
The two celebrated the happy ending to an epic friendship during the New York Rangers game in Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night. I guess you could say Wilson is really into sports.
Hanks appears looking uncomfortable when he realizes he is on camera and awkwardly waves to the crowd. Then he receives a surprise of a lifetime as he is tossed the blood-stained volleyball. Immediately, Hanks' eyes light up as he looks at his long-lost friend and shows it off to the crowd.
"Wilson!," he says to the camera, as our hearts melt. He then bobs the ball along to the chant "Let's go Rangers" because obviously Wilson and Hanks agree on the same sports teams. The New York Rangers posted the video clip on their Instagram, along with a photo on Twitter.
"I'm sooooo happpppppy toooooo seeeeee yoooooou agggggggain Wiiiiiiiiiiiiilson," Hanks reporedtly said.
It seemed like the reunion was just want the Rangers needed to boast their moral because they defeated the Bruins 3-2.
