The Internet Predictably Reacts To The Measles Outbreak With Memes

As the recent outbreak of measles continues to spread, stories about the illness and debate over vaccinations continue to be a hot topic of conversation.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) there are 102 confirmed cases in 14 states since the outbreak started in Disney's California theme park. Many argue that the spread of the virus has gone too far, especially when we have modern medical advancements--ahem, vaccines--to protect ourselves against getting sick.

But leave it to the Internet folk to lose control over the contamination, creating sick and twisted, but sometimes funny, memes to show their frustrations.

The measles, a highly contagious respiratory infection, was thought to be eliminated in the United States years back, before coming back in recent years, mainly because some parents refuse to vaccinate their children. While choosing to vaccinate your child is entirely up to a parent to decide, it is children and unvaccinated adults who are the most at risk.

Reacting to the debate over vaccinations, some very opinionated people of the Internet had no filter when it comes to what they believe.

Let's take a look at what the Internet thinks about the measles.

Time for a jab at Disney.

Now let Disney do the trolling.

Some people really don't understand.

Don't worry, Oprah has you covered.

Twitter has jokes too.

So does Jimmy Fallon.

Don't worry ladies, it's okay to care. Ryan Gosling says so.

Alright, we are out of here.
