There's no denying that Jimmy Fallon knows how to put on good TV. And just when fans of '90s TV shows are coming down from the buzz of Fallon's Fresh Prince skit, Fallon strikes again, taking us down memory lane one more time.
Fallon brought the cast of Saved by the Bell back to Bayside during Wednesday's episode of The Tonight Show, giving us the best throwback we could have asked for.
Since The Tonight Show is spending a week in Los Angeles, Fallon opened the skit telling viewers that he actually went to high school in L.A.—and then the magic happens.
We are then taken back in time to the iconic halls of Bayside, Fallon coming down the stairs to stand besides the red lockers, when Mark-Paul Gosselaar enters the scene, reprising his role as Zack Morris.
When Fallon asks how it's going, Gosselaar quotes the theme song saying, "I woke up in the morning, the alarm gave out a warning, and I didn't think I'll ever make it on time."
"It's all right," Fallon properly responds when Mario Lopez strolls by playing A.C. Slater, wearing his best '90s clothes and curly hair.
And the cast keeps on coming, including Elizabeth Berkley playing Jessie Spano, Tiffani-Amber Thiessen playing Kelly Kapowski and Dennis Haskins playing Mr. Belding.
The skit is based on an the anticipation of the Valentine's Day dance, so fans are in for a treat when Lopez rips off his clothes to recreate Slater's ballet scene. Other Saved by the Bell moments are created that include Jesse's "I'm so excited" moment, the Zack Attack anthem "Friends Forever," and even a Morris' timeout.
During the eight-minute skit, the cast and Fallon tease each other's real lives, including Fallon going on to New York to become a comedian for SNL and dating Nicole Kidman.
"Jimmy going on a date with Nicole Kidman is like Jessie becoming a stripper," Gosselaar says, poking fun at Berkley for her role in Showgirls.
TV's favorite cheerleader announces she is pregnant, as Morris jokes that they should go to Las Vegas to get married and move to a new zip code.
While Screech and Lisa Turtle do not make an appearance, it does feel good to hear Mr. Belding's laugh one more time.
