Apple Smart Glasses Not 'Close to Being Ready,' But May Come in 2027 Alongside AirPods With Cameras

The world of technology wearables is expanding, and there are two new Apple developments that are reportedly on their way, beginning with smart glasses.

According to a new report, it is being speculated that Apple is continuing its developments behind this new wearable, featuring smart glasses that would pair well with the iPhone.

Apple Smart Glasses Are 'Real,' Now Under Development

The latest "Power On" newsletter from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman details the next-generation developments on Apple's wearables, with the rumored smart glasses yet again getting a feature.

It has been revealed that the smart glasses from the Cupertino-based tech giant are not yet close to its release, as of writing, but that does not mean that it would be in Apple's backburner.

While the wearable is nowhere near its release, the development continues, according to Gurman, with Apple now aspiring to transform the glasses into an intelligent device that would be a step behind augmented reality.

The device would feature cameras for it to perceive its surroundings and tell users what is available in front of them, and it would also reportedly feature speakers that would offer auditory information and other features to users.

For now, it remains unknown if Apple would allow its smart glasses to capture images and video, similar to the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses.

That being said, Apple's smart glasses are reportedly coming in two years, and it would be joined by another evolved wearable in the form of AirPods with cameras.

Apple's Wearables Are Massively Expanding

Over the years, Apple has proven itself with the massive features, experiences, and technologies available to its wearable technology, including the AirPods, Apple Watches, and the Vision Pro. However, Apple is not stopping here.

There are reports about the company's plans to develop a pair of smart glasses, which would be the cost-effective, everyday wearable that improves on a user's lifestyle.

Last year, a rumor about Apple's roadmap for its wearables was reportedly obtained, and it showed the plans for the smart glasses of the company, as well as the also-rumored AirPods with cameras. It was revealed that the wireless audio wearables from the company would be equipped with low-res cameras under the B798 codename.

Alongside these rumored devices, the company is also rumored to be developing new Vision Pro headsets, which would be cheaper than previous releases, as well as a second-generation device that is reportedly getting the M5 chip.
