Several users on Windows 11 have noticed something odd happening after the latest update as the Copilot app on their computers have disappeared after installing the new update. While not all Windows 11 PCs are experiencing the issue, there have been reports of it happening.
Microsoft has since acknowledged the issue and claims to have been working on delivering a fix for users.
Windows 11 Update Removes Copilot From PCs
According to an official support document from Microsoft, there is a legitimate issue found in the latest Windows 11 update, particularly the OS Build 26100.3476, which removes Copilot from PCs.
A report by ArsTechnica says that many user reports claimed that after installing the new version, the system surprisingly uninstalled the Copilot app from their PCs and unpinned it as well from the taskbar.
The issue affects the Microsoft Copilot app only and not the Microsoft 365 Copilot app.

Microsoft Is Working on a Fix, Not Yet Available
According to the company, it is aware of the issue affect Copilot. It also announced that it is already working on a fix that will prevent Windows 11's updates from unintentionally uninstalling.
Microsoft has also suggested that those who want to get the Copilot app back only need to reinstall it from the Microsoft Store and pin it to the taskbar.
Microsoft's Copilot
In this era of generative AI, Microsoft has chosen to rebrand its Bing AI to Copilot, sunsetting its designated AI Assistant, Cortana. Today, the Copilot serves as the AI assistant across Microsoft's different products, including Windows.
One of the most controversial features of Microsoft's AI is Copilot+ PCs' "Recall AI," which keeps a record of everything done on a computer as many sees this as a potential privacy nightmare. With many fearing that it would collect their data, Microsoft has assured users that the files and information are stored locally, and the company does not have access to it.
