As companies embrace advanced technology, the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into business functions has surged. Akash Singh, a senior software engineer at Splunk (Cisco) and a leader in digital user interfaces and security analytics, is actively involved in pioneering efforts to integrate AI, changing how digital experiences are shaped.

Splunk's Strategic Role in the Growing AI Market

With the rise of generative AI, Splunk (Cisco) saw an opportunity to reimagine data analysis and user interaction. Singh brings eight years of experience in web technologies and user interface design to his current role.

Since December 2023, Singh has been working on one of the company's significant AI projects which builds an AI assistant for their security products. As the senior engineer from the security team, he is focused on safely integrating large language models (LLMs) into multiple security products, addressing the challenges of handling sensitive user information.

"Our goal is to democratize data analysis within the security domain. In leveraging AI, we enable users to ask questions in natural language and receive insights that previously required deep technical expertise," Singh explains.

"As the lead on the user interface for this project, I am also using my expertise to build a user interface that makes it a seamless experience to interact with AI in a complex and niche software environment," he added.

The global AI market is projected to reach $738.80 billion by 2030. Splunk's (Cisco) AI-driven innovations position the company to capture a portion of this growing market.

Leveraging Innovation to Drive Growth at Splunk (Cisco)

Singh sees AI as a catalyst for creating entirely new categories of digital experiences. "We are moving towards a future where AI does not just assist users, it anticipates their needs and proactively solves problems," he elaborates.

The digital experience platform (DXP) market is projected to reach $28.21 billion by 2030. Singh and his team are developing AI-powered DXPs.

Before joining Splunk (Cisco), he developed an entire end-to-end automatic payment system at Belong Home, processing upwards of $10 million annually while he was in the company until July 2021. Now, it processes more than $60 million worth of payments yearly. He brings this kind of innovative thinking to Splunk (Cisco).

Prioritizing Responsible AI Development

As AI becomes more pervasive, concerns about ethics and privacy have posed a challenge. Singh emphasizes the importance of responsible AI development.

"We are acutely aware of the ethical implications of our work. Every AI feature we develop goes through rigorous testing to ensure it adheres to our ethical guidelines and respects user privacy," he states.

As a mentor and having led intern projects, Singh understands the importance of human development alongside technology. This is reflected in Splunk's (Cisco) approach. The AI tools aim to empower analysts, providing deeper insights and automating tasks.

Extending Human Potential Through AI Innovation

As Splunk (Cisco) pushes the boundaries of AI integration, Singh remains focused on the long-term implications as he envisions AI becoming an indispensable part of our digital experiences.

"The true power of AI lies not in its ability to replicate human intelligence but in its capacity to extend it. Our mission is to create a symbiosis between human intuition and machine intelligence," he concludes.
