Mark Zuckerberg has shared massive changes to Meta's operations, and now, the company has taken action against its own employees after confidential information were leaked.

Recent changes are putting Meta under significant turmoil, with the influx of leaks on the rise and the company looking to catch those behind them.

Meta Fires Around 20 Employees Because of Leaks

According to the latest report from The Verge, Meta's witch hunt has begun as the company is now actively seeking out employees who have leaked sensitive information that should have been kept behind closed doors.

The company's ramped-up efforts towards plugging the leaks have already resulted in around 20 employees getting fired for their alleged disclosure of company information.

It was revealed that employees have been leaking confidential data from the company, and this includes information that was discussed during all-hands meetings with CEO Mark Zuckerberg, product plans, and other internal meetings.

Several members of the press and companies have already reported on the said leak, revealing a lot about what Meta plans to deliver in the future and what more it has to offer despite explicit instructions about keeping them secret.

Meta's CTO, Andrew Bosworth, said that the company is now actively finding the leakers who have shared confidential information, claiming that they are now making progress in catching the perpetrators.

Is Mark Zuckerberg to Blame For Meta Turmoil?

Zuckerberg has been making several addresses to the company and the public regarding the massive changes coming to Meta, especially with how it handles the operations in its social media platforms.

It has been revealed that morale over at Meta is now suffering since the announcement of these drastic changes, including the company ending DEI (diversity, equality, inclusion) programs and content moderation changes.

Meta and Its Latest Announcements

Amidst the return of President Donald Trump to the White House, Meta made changes within its operations, particularly on the social media end.

It started with replacing Threads' content moderation method to using one that's Community Notes-like for fact-checking, a move that stirred controversy in the entire tech industry and has split users in half regarding the changes.

Zuckerberg shared that a "radical overhaul" was coming to the platform where free speech would be permitted alongside the sunsetting of its fact-checking efforts. This means that the company's platforms will allow discussion of controversial topics, personalize political feeds, and more.

The Meta CEO is known for allying himself with President Trump as he rose to power again, with both mending their tumultuous relationship and being open to work together.

Because of these changes, Meta is now facing leaks of confidential information that should have been kept from the public eye.
