German Site Leaks Google Pixel 9a Specs: 120Hz Refresh Rate, Dual Camera Array, New Colors, and More

This might be Google's next budget beast phone.

Google's next budget Pixel 9a is said to have had its specs leaked, providing early insight into what to anticipate. Based on reports, the Pixel 9a would be equipped with a 6.3-inch OLED screen and 120Hz refresh rate, 48MP dual-camera setup, and 5,100mAh battery, all driven by Google's Tensor G4 chip.

On top of that, new color options are also revealed along with its rumored price tag.

Bigger Display with Smoother Refresh Rate

According to German publication WinFuture, the Pixel 9a is said to feature a 6.3-inch OLED screen with HDR10+ and a 120Hz refresh rate for better scrolling and visuals.

Compared to Pixel 8a's 90Hz refresh rate, this is such a huge improvement, especially for those who love to binge-watch movies and play mobile games.

Thicker Bezels and Refined Design

Leaked renders indicate that the Pixel 9a will feature slightly thicker bezels than the flagship Pixel 9 series. The phone is likely to sport a flat screen with rounded edges, keeping Google's classic design language intact.

Aligning with the recent leak, our October report said that it would come with noticeable bezels. For others, it isn't a big deal, but for some users, it's a dealbreaker.

The rear panel might also see a redesign, with a less prominent camera housing than the earlier protruding visor.

Improved Camera System Will Save Your Photography Worries

Among the largest rumored adjustments is the twin-camera configuration, said to be a 48MP primary camera with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) and a 13MP ultrawide camera. Although this arrangement is slightly different from the Pixel 9's 50MP primary and 48MP ultrawide sensors, it again offers high-end photography at an affordable price point.

How Will Pixel 9a's Battery Fare

Under the hood, the Pixel 9a should be powered by Google's Tensor G4 chip, which is the same processor used by the top-tier Pixel 9 series. This would bring improved performance, more efficient AI-enhanced features, and improved battery life. The phone should also feature 8GB of RAM and have two storage options, 128 GB and 256 GB.

For heavy users, the Pixel 9a will presumably include a whopping 5,100mAh battery, a significant bump from its predecessor. As Android Central reports, this should provide all-day battery life, making it a likely winner in the mid-range smartphone arena.

Color Options and Approximate Price

The related information indicates the Pixel 9a comes in four colors:

  • Obsidian (Black)
  • Porcelain (White)
  • Peony (Pink)
  • Iris (Blue)

The rumored starting price of the Pixel 9a in Europe is €499 ($520 USD), which is a compelling option for price-sensitive consumers who need flagship features without the premium price tag.

If the rumors hold true, the combination of Tensor G4 power, a large battery, and a refined design might make it one of the best-value smartphones of the year. However, until Google officially announces the device, we'll have to wait and see if these leaks turn out to be accurate.

Of course, although the leaker is somewhat reliable, always take this kind of information with a grain of salt.

Who knows, we might also get a Pixel 9-exclusive Weather app in its successor.
