While the Despicable Me movies have proven to be consistent winners, we all know that the real stars of the films are the adorable, babbling, yellow creatures that serve under the main character Gru.
Now Illumination Entertainment is using the popularity of the characters to star in the spinoff film obviously titled Minions. And after being teased about the summer release of the Minions movie during Super Bowl XLIX, a second trailer was released on Tuesday to get us excited to see our favorite cute, little bad guys.
Set in 1968, the plot of the movie focuses on three Minions in particular, named Kevin, Bob and Stuart, who go out on an adventure to find someone they can serve in the business of evil.
The Minions go on a road trip to Orlando to attend their very own version on Comic Con called Villain-Con in search of becoming henchmen. Minions features America's sweetheart, Sandra Bullock, who sheds her good-girl image to play Scarlet Overall, a female supervillian who becomes the Minion's leader.
"Scarlet Overkill has fantastic hair, wears great clothes and has a lethal uppercut," producer Chris Meledandri says. "When we turn her loose on the world, she is going to come out standing on top."
While the world was introduced to Bullock's character, the trailer presents very few other plot details. Other voices in the film are provided by John Hamm, Michael Keaton, Allison Janney and Steve Coogan.
Of course, you can expect lots of laughs provided by the mini funny men. Minions hits the big screen on July 10. Watch your favorite evil geniuses in the trailer below.
