macOS 15 Sequoia’s iPhone Mirroring Is Now Available and Here’s How to Use It

iPhone Mirroring is a clever way to browse your phone without disrupting your workflow.

Apple released its major updates today which ushers in macOS 15 Sequoia, and one of its most iconic features available now is iPhone Mirroring which comes as a pre-built app on the latest version. Essentially, this feature will bring what users see on their iPhones to the Mac, but instead of taking up the entire screen, users will get a special window for it.

There are many things to do with iPhone Mirroring as it can appear alongside any app open on the Mac but brings the smartphone experience to the computer.

The release of macOS 15 Sequoia introduced to the world the latest and most advanced computer OS available for all, but despite it missing Apple Intelligence, users get to enjoy the next best thing which is iPhone Mirroring. It allows users to pull up their iPhones to be part of their desktop experience, without the need to pick it up physically.

Moreover, it will have a dedicated app that will only appear virtually almost the same size as your device, where users get to access apps, their Settings, and other unique experiences. Mac's peripherals like the keyboard and trackpad (or mouse) will serve as the main controls.

First off, users need to ensure that their Mac computers are updated to the latest version, or at least the macOS 15.0 version for iPhone Mirroring to work. Next, users should also have their Apple smartphones updated to the latest iOS 18.0 or its beta version for this to be compatible.

Furthermore, both Mac and iPhones should have the same Apple ID/account logged in to both devices.

Next, search for the iPhone Mirroring app which can be found on the Applications folder, Launchpad, or using the Cmd+space Spotlight function to start the app.

Apple will take you to the setup process where you need to 'Allow' certain functions and enter the password of your computer. It will then automatically connect to your iOS 18 iPhone provided that it is locked, and you get to enjoy accessing your device remotely without the need to pick it up.

Users are also given the option to have their iPhone notifications appear on their Macs via iPhone Mirroring. Additionally, they may resize the window to appear larger, but its default size would be its smallest.

Apple's Latest macOS 15 Sequoia

Sequoia is another California National Park, with Apple continuing its namesake to bring the latest experiences on the Mac with new features to enjoy. It was revealed earlier this year that both Intel Macs from 2018 and all M-series chips are eligible for the upgrade.

That being said, Apple Intelligence will only be available to M-series Macs, but its availability is yet to come this October, as Cupertino is still preparing for it. With that, users of macOS 15 will get to explore more of its non-AI features, including the nifty iPhone Mirroring experience.
