Apple Intelligence: The Future of AI on iPhone 16
Similarly, confirming Apple Intelligence's rumors, the SVP of Hardware Technologies, Johny Srouji said that the iPhone 16 series integration was done according to it. This new AI feature will be featured in all the different iPhone 16 models thus becoming one of the marketing features of the series.
When asked by Geekerwan about the reasons for using 8GB of RAM, Srouji extended on that, pointing out that it would be crucial for the functioning of Apple Intelligence. This step is pioneering for Apple since the previous models of iPhones had RAM that ranged from 3 to 6 GB, the Pro version inclusive having 8GB.
"We look at different configurations, both for computation and memory bandwidth and memory capacity. And then we make the right trade-off and balance of what actually makes the most sense. So, Apple Intelligence was a major feature that led us to believe that we need to get to 8GB," Srouji said.
New standard to make sure that Every iPhone 16 needs to be able to work with AI functions without compromising its operation.

How Game-Changing is 8GB RAM Boost
Apple's decision to incorporate 8GB of RAM on all iPhone 16 models is a complete overhaul of the company's strategy toward performance. The improvements from last year's iPhone 15 base models which came with only 6GB of RAM make it clear that it is vital to provide better and more powerful gadgets to customers.
As Srouji pointed out, the extra RAM will be a big help to applications well beyond the phone's AI features. But one of the areas the users will potentially feel the change most is in mobile gaming.
The Apple exec believes that the "8GB RAM is going to help immensely among other applications such as in gaming." With this upgrade, iPhone 16 models will now be able to run high-end AAA games, unlike was the case with the iPhone 15 Pro models.
This should help draw more interest from mobile gamers, as the improved RAM means that there are fewer hiccups while playing, and the ability to load the game quicker makes the experience all the better. The 8GB RAM also enables the users to run transitioning between demanding applications without any lagging.
A Smart Decision to Increase iPhone 16 Sales
