Destiny 2 is Still Going Strong Seven Years In

Bungie first unveiled Destiny 2 in 2017 and released the game in the same year, and this followed its original online first-person shooter (FPS) title of the same name which first arrived in 2014. Despite it being a seven-year game, Destiny 2 stands strong in the test of time, being regarded as one of the most iconic action-shooters of this era.

It is known for surviving different challenges it faced along the way, including cutting ties with Activision Blizzard in 2019 as Bungie obtained the full publishing rights to the franchise.

One of the most iconic experiences in the renowned space shooter is its regular expansion releases throughout the years, and has been widely anticipated by fans as it delivers new content and experiences.

There are still no plans from Bungie to work on Destiny 3, as these rumors were recently shut down by the developers. That being said, its current focus now is to give users more to enjoy in its MMO FPS by offering two expansions per year, taking effect this 2025.
