Almost two weeks after its release, Concord's studio Firewalk Studios announced that the game would shut down soon on PlayStation 5 and PC. Of course, this is heartbreaking for fans who have been waiting for this for a long time.
As it turns out, the game did not meet what needed to be delivered during the initial launch. According to Ryan Ellis, the Game Director of Firewalk Studios, the game will be going offline starting Friday, Sept. 6.
Some already purchased the digital version of the game or at least pre-ordered it from the Steam Store and other gaming libraries. If that's the case, there's a way on how to refund it.
Why Concord is Going Offline
Despite the positive response to many aspects of the game, Fire Walk Studios wrote on the PlayStation blog that certain elements of the game didn't meet the expectations that the team set.
As a result, although it's a very hard decision to make, the team decided to shut down Concord two days from now. From here, the developers will try to look on the brighter side of things by exploring new options that will improve the user's gaming experience.

Refund Process for Concord Purchases
In light of this decision, Concord's sales have been halted immediately, and FireWalk offers full refunds to all players who purchased the game on PlayStation 5 or PC.
On the r/ConcordGame subreddit, the original poster wrote that players can still refund the game regardless of hours played during beta. However, there's a workaround here.
The OP said that once a refund is requested, zero hours will appear in the system. From here, the automatic refund will happen after eight hours. It should be noted that you do this before the beta ends.
PlayStation 5 Refunds
If you purchased Concord for PlayStation 5 from the PlayStation Store or PlayStation Direct, you don't need to take any action. Refunds will be automatically issued back to your original payment method.
Please note that it may take 30-60 days for the refund to appear on your bank statement. If your original payment method is unavailable, the refund will be credited to your PSN wallet.
PC Refunds via Steam and Epic Games Store
For those who bought Concord on Steam or the Epic Games Store, refunds are being processed now. Steam will send you a confirmation once your refund has been issued.
Epic Games Store will also process refunds in the coming days and will contact you directly to confirm when it has been completed. Please be patient as the process may take some time.
Refunds for Physical Copies
If you purchased a physical copy of Concord from a retailer other than PlayStation Direct, you will need to follow the refund process of the retailer from which you bought the game.
What Happens After the Refund?
Once your refund has been processed, you will no longer have access to the game. This may be disappointing, but the devs only want what's best for its customers at this hard time.
Ellis said that Freegunners could still keep in touch with them on the Concord galaxy. All feedback and passion for the game are invaluable, and as such, the developers will take note of everything that can contribute to the welfare of the game in the future.
