The Singapore-based crypto exchange platform, Crypto.com, is now making a move for Europe's top football body, theUEFA Champions League, where it is now named the sponsor in a three-year agreement. From this moment on until 2027, Crypto.com would be the main sponsor of UEFA, making history as the "first cryptocurrency partner" of the league.
Before this, Crypto.com made its presence known in the world of sports, previously sponsoring Los Angeles with the now known 'Crypto.com Arena' for the NBA, WNBA, and NHL.
Crypto.com Now the Main Sponsor of UEFA Champions League
The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has announced its latest deal which it signed with Crypto.com earlier today, naming the crypto exchange platform as its new sponsor for the iconic league. This new partnership is now activated for this year after the August 14 game between Real Madrid and Atalanta BC which took place in Warsaw, Poland.
UEFA Champions League remains the top European football competition, and among the most popular in the world, featuring teams like Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Juventus FC, Arsenal FC, A.C. Milan, Manchester City, Paris-Saint Germain FC, and more.
Crypto.com and UEFA are also promising more to offer in the future including various experiences to experience during the games.
UEFA Signs Crypto.com as Three-Year Sponsor 'Til 2027
The three-year agreement from UEFA now named Crypto.com as its official global sponsor will run until the 2027 cycle, and it will expand more from the Champions League.
Crypto.com would also be the official sponsor of the UEFA Youth League and the UEFA Futsal Champions League.
Crypto.com's Operations in Sports
Throughout the years, there has been massive controversy faced by Crypto.com, and among these was its costly mistake where it accidentally sent $7.2 million to a customer because of a typo. It is known for being dragged on in court, with the customer refusing to give the money back, but the judge presiding over it ruled in favor of the crypto company.
Moreover, it is also known for being endorsed by Matt Damon when it first started, along with other celebrities and personalities.
However, in 2021, Crypto.com made a bold move towards being the sponsor in sports, partnering with Los Angeles to take over the iconic Staples Center, now known as the Crypto.com Arena. This downtown LA stadium is known for being the home of the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Sparks, and the NHL's Los Angeles Kings.
