Susan Wojcicki is widely regarded as one of the most influential women in tech history, particularly as a prominent figure in Silicon Valley, and her death last Friday, August 9 came as a surprise to the industry. Wojcicki may have only lived a short 56 years of sharing her aspirations, expertise, and knowledge with the tech world, but she has imparted a lot, and will live on as her legacy to the world.

Wojcicki's partner, Dennis Tropper, shared the news of her passing over the weekend via Facebook, and the cause of her death was because of the two-year battle against a non-small cell variant of lung cancer.

It was only in 2023 that she announced her departure from YouTube after serving the company for nine years since 2014. Not only that, she is credited for being one of the pillars of Google, serving as its first marketing manager, and her Menlo Park home garage being the internet company's first office.

Mayonnaise may be one of the most renowned condiments worldwide, best known for being the perfect pair for burgers, fries, and many more iconic dishes, but Lehigh University researchers are now making headlines because of their study that could help achieve nuclear fusion.

According to Arindam Banerjee in their study, mayo behaves like a solid, but it will flow once "subjected to a pressure gradient." It was then compared to plasma, with may representing an analog to the fusion process.

The study also talked about using a method called interial confinement fusion (ICF) which compresses and heats small capsules that contain hydrogen isotopes, the fuel needed for fusion reactions.

Nuclear Fusion is best known to be a possible source of clean energy.

ByteDance has introduced a new artificial intelligence program known as 'Jimeng AI,' with the TikTok creator touting the capabilities of its new LLM for making content for users. The new system made its debut in mainland China last week, and it can generate images or videos from a user's text prompt, available on the Chinese Apple App Store for iPhones, and Android via local app stores, and computers.

Jimeng's English translation means "immediate dream," and according to the SCMP, it guarantees a quick process of creating new media from text instructions.

It is also compared to OpenAI's Sora, a text-to-image and video-generative AI system which the nonprofit company introduced earlier this year.
