While Apple is offering 'Environment' for Vision Pro users to get a change of scenery, The Walt Disney Company, via Disney+, also offers these experiences, now debuting its fifth one on the XR headset. The latest one from Disney+ was made in collaboration with National Geographic, the subsidiary company part of its 21st Century Fox acquisition it completed in 2019.

In this latest offer, Disney+ is moving away from its fictional immersive Environments with this latest release that centers on a real place on Earth.

Apple Vision Pro users are now sharing the latest Environment to access on the headset, but this is via the Disney+ app which offers a snowy landscape for users to enjoy while streaming. This Environment is the fifth offer from Disney+ for Vision Pro users to enjoy and is only accessible when the streaming platform app is launched on the headset.

There are already five Environment options for users to choose from via Disney+, with its latest centering on 'Iceland' which is based on the Thingvellir National Park. This specific location in Iceland is known as its national treasure, representing a geological significance to the country and a massive part of its history.

Disney+ and its subsidiary, National Geographic, co-developed this new Vision Pro environment which adds to its list of available Environments. The other offers on Disney+'s app Environment include the Avengers Tower, Disney+ Theater, Scare Floor, Tatooine, and finally, Iceland, to be the backdrop when streaming.

Vision Pro Environments and Immersive Experiences

One of the most interesting features of Apple's Vision Pro is to move away from the mixed-reality experience and go into full virtual reality mode (VR), with the use of Environments. In late July, Apple introduced a new Environment for users to enjoy called 'Lake Vrangla,' centering on a remote lake covered by fog, but it is not a real place and is only based on a lake near Oslo, Norway.

Cupertino highlighted immersive features to be the center of its Vision Pro, offering a different kind of experience that offers the best of both AR and VR in its spatial computer. Apart from that, Apple has also debuted immersive movies for users to enjoy on the XR headset, with a new immersive movie available to access for free via the Apple TV app.

Apps being transformed to fit Vision Pro's offers via visionOS, as well as self-made Apple experiences for users have all collectively helped in delivering immersive experiences on the headset. Now, Disney+ is expanding on what users may experience on the Vision Pro, with the new Iceland Environment co-developed with National Geographic now available via the streaming app.
