Yahoo is reportedly looking to revamp its fantasy sports app with a major new upgrade, supporting a more accessible interface, for a better experience.

The new application is split into three segments. Upon opening the app, you will immediately see a list of your various fantasy teams in sports like football, baseball, and basketball. While football is the most popular, Yahoo aims to encourage users to explore new fantasy game options with the updated app.

Yahoo is adapting to the AI-powered world with new AI features for its Yahoo Mail desktop app. The features will be helpful to simplify inbox management.

There is also a News tab specifically for fantasy players and a Scores tab that displays scores important to you and your fantasy teams. Previously, all the content was previously housed in the Yahoo Sports app, but now it is adjacent to your fantasy games.

Regarding the fundamentals of participating in fantasy sports, there have been a few changes. Yahoo improved the app's layout to display the entire team on the screen simultaneously and allow for seamless switching between teams.

By incorporating new logos and icons, users have the option to personalize their team, while ensuring that the app remains recognizable to returning users.

All-In-One Sports App

According to Ryan Spoon, the president of Yahoo Sports, the goal of the new app is to enhance the fan experience and make it more comprehensive. He desires the opportunity for users to be able to switch up their teams.

While playing, allow them to either watch their team or check the score on the box. Before, it took using two or three separate apps, but Yahoo now wants you to do everything in a single location.

Yahoo Application Updates

Yahoo's sports app update follows the recent relaunch of Yahoo News, featuring a new feed driven by the same AI model used in Artifact, the personalized news app acquired by Yahoo from Instagram co-founders Mike Krieger and Kevin Systrom.

Yahoo News is preparing to introduce Artifact's AI, which can adjust news stories and correct false or deceiving titles. The new Yahoo News app will provide users with a customized news feed generated by AI according to their preferences and also offer a Key Takeaways feature for a quick summary of articles.

Added functionalities of the Yahoo News application consist of Top articles, which are set to offer summaries and showcase popular articles for users to peruse in the near future.

Users can block stories with certain keywords and can also choose to exclude particular publishers according to their preferences. Moreover, Yahoo News will enable users to report items such as clickbait titles and utilize AI to improve them, similar to Artifact.

Yahoo rescued Artifact from total disaster by purchasing it in April for an undisclosed amount. Artifact decided to close a few months ago due to a lack of lucrative investment opportunities. Artifact joined a competitive market with Meta's Threads and other strong competitors, initially launching as a simple news app, and appeared to be a possible challenger to Twitter.
