The next step for Apple's TV+ streaming platform is looking towards offering a new tier, with reports claiming that this will be the ad-supported plan for subscribers that would save them costs on monthly subscriptions. It will still provide all of the benefits and content of Apple TV+, but it will only see advertisements, with Cupertino reportedly in touch with UK ad agencies.

It will follow the moves made by Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, Max, and other platforms that offer ad-supported plans, a way to rake in new customers with cheaper pricing.

A report from 9to5Mac details the latest moves from Apple which points out to a new ad-supported plan coming for Apple TV+. Earlier this year, the company was seen going on a hiring spree with several advertising experts and executives to join the company.

This would follow the move from Netflix and Disney+ who were among the first to deliver this as early as 2022. A year later, more companies have decided to offer this kind of plan as well, including the likes of Warner Bros. Discovery's Max, as well as Amazon Prime Video.

The evidence details that this is pointing towards Apple TV+'s future ad-supported plan, but Cupertino has not yet confirmed anything.

Apple in Talks with UK Agencies for TV+ Ads

Additionally, The Telegraph reported that Apple is already in talks with the UK's ratings body, Broadcaster's Audience Research Board (BARB) about advertising data collection. BARB already tracks the UK's spent time in streaming Apple TV+.

It is also known that the likes of Amazon, Disney, and Netflix, Apple TV+'s competitors, are already working with BARB, and these three are known for having ad-supported plans. Speculations claim that Apple may bring the ad-supported TV+ at $4.99 per month.

Apple TV+ and Ad-Supported Streaming

From offering movies in iTunes by purchasing or renting movies or shows to the renowned platform known as Apple TV+, Cupertino went a long way in offering a new kind of entertainment that is dedicated to its devices. It is known that Apple TV+'s best offers center on its 'Apple Originals' content which mainly focuses on award-winning series, and before, it was dedicated as a niche type of entertainment.

That being said, it has already evolved into diverse genre offers for its subscribers.

It still faces steep competition in the market, especially with platforms that already offer ad-supported streaming as a way to bolster its subscriber base while offering a cheaper monthly payment program. NetflixDisney+MaxAmazon Prime Video, and more already offer this, pushing its ads into the streams as a way to cut subscription costs for users.

With different platforms adopting the ad-supported program that offers a unique experience in their subscriptions, cheaper streaming has been one of the go-to options, especially for those who do not mind it. Apple TV+'s next step is towards offering a cheaper, ad-supported plan, with the company now working on it for reachable streaming.
